I'm being a good girl. . . . .

. . . and only working on one thing at a time! Right now I'm finishing off the second 'rainy day' sock that I started a few weeks ago. After I finished the first one I think I discovered the Sirdar book with the lovely boleros, and I feared second sock syndrome had hit me big time. I didn't cast on for the second sock for a good couple of weeks! In fact I think I finished a whole bolero (the green one) and started on the pink one before I even cast on for the second sock.

Now, is it just me or are you thinking it too? Christmas is just a few short months away!!!! And that's what's got me set on working on just one wip at a time. The socks aren't even a Christmas gift! They are just something I promised a friend I would knit, oooh about 6 months ago! So they must be first off the needles, then I will start to concentrate on a few other wips that have been in hibernation. I am promising myself that I will not cast on for anything new (that is not intended for a Christmas gift) before I finish all the wips that are intended for Christmas gifts - are you confused yet?

After I've finished the sock I will start on the little Debbie Bliss sweater I started months ago....

I think last time I mentioned it I only showed a picture of the close up ribbing. I didn't want any of the family seeing it because it was meant for a Christmas gift for my nephew's little boy. But in hindsight, does it really matter if they see it (and I don't even think they will, cos I doubt they even check my knitting site), so I'm posting pictures anyway and will keep showing the progress on such knits. My aim is to knit a little something for the 'babies' in my extended family, those being the kids of my nephews and nieces in England who we've just spent two weeks with.

So all that said, I will jump off here and go finish off a sock! I'm on a roll and hope to have it off the needles in the next couple of days - wish me luck!

Nice sock. I understand perfectly as I have the same problem. I am only allowing myself to cast on a new project after I finish 1 WIP.

i have to have my mind clear of wip's before i start others. i can't sleep if i have too many projects on my needles. REALLY!

I love the sock too. I knit that same sweater for my nephew a few years back in a light grey color and my sil loved it. I am sure he would have grown out of it by now though. Yours looks nice too.

Every year when it's nearly time for the children to go back to school, my mind turns to Christmas gifts. This will be the first time I've even considered knitting anything but I'm giving it some serious thought so may be joining you with gift knitting soon.

Ignore the bizarre link on my previous comment. Forgot to change clipboard before I pasted my URL!!!

Good luck with the sock - it looks like you are not that far from being done - yeah!

I loooove the collar on that cute little sweater. Good choice of pattern.

I have vaguely given thought to a minor Christmas gift - but thanks for the reminder I need to order the yarn :)

Great looking sock! I'm really trying hard to finish what I have on the needles - and I'm not going to think about Christmas yet...

That DB sweater is so cute. What book is that in?

I KNOW! Christmas will be here before we know it and I don't want to be stressed with knitting deadlines - need to start soon. I totally need to focus on one project at a time as well. That is a good (and hard) goal!

Love the color of that sock, the yarn looks so luxurious. And what a cute sweater!

You're so smart to start thinking about Christmas knitting now. I need to at least start thinking about it too.

The socks are really pretty!

This year I am drastically cutting down on Christmas knitting, and only making things a) that are small, and b) where I know the recipient will appreciate them. I've had too many occasions in the past where family members just think I'm being a bit of a cheapskate, or even weird, giving something handmade!
